Do I need a certain level to start?
No. I take absolute beginners and people who have lived here for ten years and still freeze at the bakery. The work changes, the approach does not.

Will the session be in French or in English?
Both, in the proportion your level requires. A beginner gets most explanations in English. Further along, English disappears on its own. You are never asked to perform in French before you are ready.

Do you prepare for DELF, DALF or other exams?
That is not what this is. I work on the French you use at a dinner table, in a lease negotiation, at your partner’s family lunch. Practical life, not certificates. The grammar comes along for the ride, but the target is the room you walk into, not an exam board.

Where do sessions take place?
Three options. At your home, at my office in Antibes, or somewhere out in the world. The third one matters more than it sounds: a market, a café, a park, a museum, a restaurant, a street. Some sessions are built entirely around real situations, because that is where the language actually lives.

Can we work remotely?
Yes, by video. It works well for regular sessions and for weeks when your schedule collapses. The immersion formats are in person only, for obvious reasons.

Is there work between sessions?
Yes, calibrated to the time you actually have. I give a learner something to carry whenever there is an opening for it. Nobody is graded, nobody is scolded. What you do between sessions is what makes the next one faster.

What is the Notion dashboard?
Included with L’Affranchi. A personal workspace built around your life and your interests, not a generic course template. Everything we cover, what to review, what comes next. It is yours, it stays yours, and it is designed to be pleasant to open.

Who is this for?
Anyone in France who feels the gap between living here and belonging here. Expatriates, partners of French nationals, people on a long stay who want the real cultural experience rather than a polite version of it. Frustration is the only prerequisite.

How is this different from a French teacher?
A teacher corrects your French. I work on everything around it: why the waiter switched to English, why nobody answered your invitation, why the argument at the table was a form of affection. The language is half the work. The codes are the other half.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Let me know at least forty-eight hours before and we move the session. Under forty-eight hours, or no notice, the session is due.

Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. A written message is enough, no reason required. Monthly packages run to the end of the current month, then stop. Le Franc-Parler has its own schedule, set out in the terms.
